Annual General Meeting

The CDC's next AGM will be held at 7:45pm(sharp) on Friday, May 7, 2004, at the Pensioners and Pioneers Pavilion (606 Spadina Cres. West), just before our May dance. As usual there will be no lesson that evening, but we encourage everyone to attend and have an active voice in the operation of the club. As an added incentive, members who attend the AGM will be admitted to the dance for only $7.00! Members must be in attendance at the beginning of the meeting in order to get this reduced rate, so please be on time. Preliminary financial statements for our 2003--2004 dance season are included with this newsletter.

If you are interested in serving on the Classic Dance Club Executive please contact any member of the executive. (Serving on the Executive requires about one to two evenings per month.)

President's Address

By all counts, the CDC's 19th Annual Ball and Showcase was a wonderful success! Our warmest thanks go to all the performers, and especially to my ``Team'' (the CDC Executive Committee) who keep the events running so smoothly! We have Thank You Certificates for all the performers which can be picked up at any of our dances.

We are so very pleased with the interest shown by several "new" members who are willing to let their names stand for our next dance year term. The greatest joy comes from seeing such a diverse group of people who meet and cooperate to share in the commonality of the love of dance. Without the help of dedicated and capable people, these events would not be possible. We also express our gratitude to our D.J.s, Cashier, and Pius (Management of the P&P Hall) for all that they do! To our Members and Guests, we appreciate your ongoing support! May I at this time extend a special Thank You to Garry for being Chief Instructor, and to Glen, Elinor, Jason, and Nicole for their assistance. Ditto to Everyone else on the Executive, as they each have their own important jobs to carry out!

We look forward to seeing all of you back in September, and perhaps some new faces too. Have a super summer!

The June 4 dance will be the final dance until our first dance of the 2004--2005 dance season on Friday, September 17, 2004. The most current dance schedule is on our web-site.
