December 2003 Newsletter

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

With December upon us, and Christmas just around the corner, the dance season has been flying by! We hope that you have been enjoying the dance events thus far, and that you continue to do so for the rest of the dance season.

Procrastinator's New Year's Eve Ball

After the huge success we had with this dance last year, and the positive feedback from the membership, we are going to host this event again. Feel free to dress up in your ``finery'' as we start 2004 ``our way''! Please note that there will be no lesson that evening, and that dancing will commence at 7:45p.m. As well, there will be a light hot meal served mid-evening. Tickets for the event will only be sold at the door.

Upcoming Dance Dates for 2004

Our dance dates for the first half of 2004 are as follows:

Effective at the February dance, the membership fee will be reduced to $15 for the remainder of the 2003--2004 dance season.

CDC's 19th Annual Ball and Showcase

Now is a good time to start thinking about whether you would be interested in doing a dance routine for our Annual Ball and Showcase to be held on Friday, April 2, 2004. As always, club members are given priority in the selection process. The response to this dance since 2000 has been wonderful, and it has become one of our special events. If you have any questions, please speak to any Executive Member. More information will follow in the new year.

President's Address

As another year draws to a close, my heart warms with gratitude to all our Members, Guests, and especially to a dedicated Executive Committee for their continued support. It has been has a very busy season, so it is great to have you come out to the dances, even when you are tired!

The Music Committee has been adding new selections to the CDC Music Library. You've likely noticed that we have also been varying our D.J.s. Remember, the D.J.s are there to help everyone enjoy the dance. We encourage you to invite your friends to check out our fabulous dance floor (thanks to our caretaker, Pius!), and to ask people of all ages and levels of dancers to come out.

Thanks Again to my Fantastic ``TEAM!''

Wishing Everyone a Safe & Happy Holiday Season,

Yours for the love of DANCE,

Lisa R.

Special Shoe Sale

An opportunity to purchase new and used ballroom dance shoes is being discussed by the CDC and the U. of S. Ballroom Dancing Club. To get involved, please speak to Lisa R. (CDC) or Ev B. (U. of S. BDC) Watch for further information and details.
