Annual General Meeting

The CDC's AGM will be held at 7:45pm(sharp) on Friday, May 2, 2003, at the Pensioners and Pioneers Pavilion (606 Spadina Cres. West), just before our May dance. There will be no lesson that evening. We appreciate your interest and support of the Club, so please plan to attend. As an added incentive, members who attend the AGM will be admitted to the dance for only $7.00! Members must be in attendance at the beginning of the meeting in order to get this reduced rate, so please be on time. Financial statements will distributed at the meeting and are also available (by request) prior to May 2.

If you are interested in serving on the Classic Dance Club Executive please contact any member of the executive. (Serving on the Executive requires about one to two evenings per month.) We would like to convey our warmest thanks to those people who are letting their names stand as executive for the upcoming year.

Upcoming Dance Dates

Our dance dates for the next dances are:
Friday May 2 Annual General Meeting
Friday June 6 Last dance of the 2002--2003

The June 6 dance will be the final dance until our first dance of the 2003--2004 dance season on Friday, September 19, 2003. The Instructors are putting together a surprise lesson for the June dance.

President's Address

This is our first Newsletter for 2003. I would like to wish everyone a belated Happy New Year! We felt the Procrastinator's New Year's Ball was quite a success. We appreciate and encourage the support. The consensus was that we try it again next January.

Our 18th Anniversary Ball was most enjoyable. Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who performed routines for the Showcase. The most novel part is that some of these people have only been dancing for less than two years! We laud them! I never cease to be amazed by the wonderful people I meet at our dances. Our young European guests this past season helped reinforce just how special and universal a hobby Ballroom can be.

As we approach the end of this term, I would like to also express my deepest gratitude to ALL those who keep the CDC vibrant and special: the CDC ``Team'' (Exec. & Instructors), the Members, our D.J.'s; Cashier; and the staff at the P&P Hall, as well as our Guests throughout the year. Most of all, I am grateful to my husband Garry for his help, encouragement, and for sharing our passion of dancing.

There are many dance events going on through the Summer. Please keep up with your dancing and we hope to see you back in September.

Have an excellent Summer!

Yours, for the love of Dance,

Lisa R.
