Classic Dance Club
April 2001 Newsletter
As another great year of dancing begins to draw to a close
we still have more dancing to do and a number of big events to look
forward to.
16th Anniversary Ball
Our next dance is a special one and promises to be a big event!
Please join us on Saturday, April 21 in the Commonwealth Ballroom of
the Quality Hotel for our 16th Anniversary Ball. Dancing will
begin at 8:00pm (no lesson) with a Dance Showcase later in
the evening. Come and help us celebrate our 16th year!
Annual General Meeting
The CDC's 16th AGM will be held at 8:00pm on Saturday, May 19,
2001 at the Grosvenor Park United Church, just before our May dance.
There will be no lesson that evening. We appreciate your interest and
support of the Club, so please plan to attend.
If you are interested in serving on the Classic Dance Club Executive
please contact Glen or send email to aa070@sfn.saskatoon.sk.ca.
(Serving on the Executive requires about one to two evenings per
month.) We would like to convey our warmest thanks to those who are
letting their names stand for the upcoming year, and a big Thank
You to those executive members who are stepping down and who have
contributed much time, effort, and support for the Club.

President's Address
The 2000-2001 Classic Dance Club season will very quickly be drawing
to a close. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the
members for their support, and to thank the executive for all their
hard work in putting on the dances, collecting music, and other
behind-the-scenes work. Thanks go to Shelley for her two year
term as treasurer.
Classic's 16 Anniversary Ball is on Saturday, April 21st at the
Quality Hotel. It is an evening that I'm looking
forward to with great anticipation. The showcase presentation at the
15 anniversary was a huge success. We hope to generate as much
excitement this year with the presentation of a Waltz Formation, as
well as other routines performed by members of the Club. Come out and
celebrate Classic's 16th birthday with us!
Our Annual General Meeting is fast approaching, and we hope
to see you out to elect a new executive. We will also be discussing
future plans and directions for the Club, and appreciate member's
input and participation to this process. I'd like to take this
opportunity to invite anyone interested in being a part of the
executive to approach any of the current executive for more
information.
Special thanks to Lisa and Garry for being our head
instructors, and for volunteering their time and expertise for the
lessons. They have been invaluable in collecting and maintaining the
Club's music library. Their support and encouragement has been greatly
appreciated.
And last, but not least, a thank you to my husband for
taking on the role as VP, and for being my dance partner.
Elinor
