President's Address
Classic Dance Club's 2000--2001 season has been exciting. We have
tried a couple of new things this year. Our October dance was a great
success with our ``member bring a non-member for a member price''
promotion. This was also our first theme dance in years. People
really seemed to enjoy dressing in a ``retro'' style. The music for
the evening was great fun with memorable pieces from a number of
different decades.
November was our first fund-raiser dance at Grosvenor Park
United Church. This was a nice evening with several new faces and
long time members coming out to enjoy an evening of great dancing.
These dances cost less to hold, but are a lot more work for the
executive, and I appreciate all their work.
I am looking forward to our New Year's Eve dance at the
Travelodge. We were unable to host a New Year's Eve last year because
we could not get a facility for 2000. This year the dance will be
held in the Galaxy B room, which means even more dance space!!! So
come out and celebrate 2001 with us in great style and at a great
price.
I would like to thank my executive for all their work to make our
dances a success. I would like to wish all our members a Merry
Christmas and a happy and dance-filled 2001.

Music Committee
The Classic Dance Club has a Music Committee to coordinate the previewing
of dance music, the creation of an evening's dance program, and the
selection of dance steps for the lesson. The ongoing effort of this
committee is what gives the CDC its unique flavor of strong dance music
from both traditional and modern sources. You can be a part of this!
Any member who owns a CD with one (or more) songs they think would be
a good addition to the Club's library can ask Garry or Lisa
to preview the disk. If the Committee approves of the song, it gets
added to our ever-expanding library and strengthens the Club's dance
music.
