Annual Ball Opinions Sought

The CDC will be hosting a Special 15th Anniversary/Annual Ball, complete with an Invitational Dance Showcase, on Friday, April 14, 2000. We would like your input on whether to have a special Dinner Buffet (for a cost of about $25/member for the entire evening) or the regular late lunch (for the usual $17.50/member). Please let us know your preference of:

Membership Report

We would like to thank the current Membership of 106 people for their continued interest and support. Your loyalty is very much appreciated. Our commitment and focus this past year has been dedicated to providing a ``quality'' evening for your enjoyment. Your positive comments about the ``upscale'' venue/ambience/music/service, etc. have made it all worthwhile. We realize that there are now more other dance opportunities available, and we appreciate your support of the CDC.

Presidents' Message

The Classic Dance Club is proud to be entering it's 15th Year of providing a great social dance opportunity in Saskatoon. It has been a pleasure working with a friendly, enthusiastic, and loyal Executive this past year, despite all the changes going on with the Club. We have appreciated the considerable interest and pride shown by our Members and Guests over the years, and feel we could not have enjoyed these functions without the kind of encouragement they have given us. Thank you to all who have contributed in any way over the past years, and especially to those who took part in helping with the Music. We love our new location and we hope you do too! Your kind words and support have been our inspiration. Thank you for your continued support.

Warmest Wishes and Happy Dancing,
Lisa and Garry R.

Questions (and Answers) about the New Facilities

Q. Would it not have been cheaper to continue the dance functions at The Legion?
A. Minimally, at best. The difference would be approximately $1.50 less per person per dance. We are currently subsidizing each Member's Admission by about $3.00 (at the the $17.50 Member Rate).

Q. Is it necessary to have food?
A. Yes. From a business perspective, with all the facilities we checked, catering and the Bar are where profits are realized. The food is part of a ``Package'' Deal. Not only are we graced with a beautiful and spacious dance floor and room that we enjoy, but the Quality Hotel does provide excellent service.

Q. Why are most of the dances held on Friday nights?
A. We were fortunate to have some dances on Saturdays. However, with a change of facility, there is always a ``breaking in'' period to reach a point where the preferred dates become available. That process can take two to three years to become established.

We look forward to seeing everyone back at dancing!
